Do I need to bring a catcher to my pitching lesson?

The simple answer is, YES, that is the ideal scenario. To get the most out of your lesson, you want your instructor able to focus their attention on your players form, which can be hard to do if the trainer needs to act as the catcher from 40 feet away. Often times the catcher/helper is a mom, dad, sibling, teammate or friend. However, if you are unable to provide catching services yourself, and cannot find anyone else to help, you can work with your individual trainer to accommodate the lesson. Often times that means the player will be throwing into tarps and/or targets, as opposed to a cathcer.
